With her latest single, “Weary,” a sweet ballad full of heartbreak and hope, Jae Franklin is once again proving that she’s a unique talent with perspective to match her layered vocals. Ms. Franklin is a Houston native currently living in Abu Dhabi.
Simple, yet lyrically layered, “Weary” is an ode for the times, a push for better days when things seem desolate. A mellow piano supports Franklin’s voice, which is soothing and rich, drawing listeners in with ease and holding them captive until the last note is uttered.
“Everybody wants a better tomorrow even when tomorrow’s contentment seems out of reach. This song is for anyone who feels like life is not fair, but can see a silver lining in every cloud,” says Franklin of the single, which will be available on iTunes and all major digital distribution platforms February 10th.
“Weary” is another mark in Franklin’s young, but storied career. The talented singer/songwriter has received international acclaim since 2010 with the release of her EPs— Universal Language: Prelude 1, Universal Language: Prelude 2, Always Needed You and Universal Language: Prelude 3. Stamped by standout songs like, “Love is Not Hard” and “Blue and Stuck,” which tells the story of unrequited love. Franklin has displayed a penchant for not only penning powerful songs but also entertaining as a seasoned performer.
