He has implemented a Dual-Immersion program at Worthington School for TK-1st which allows students to learn in dual languages: English and Spanish.
He has hired several new Principals, Assistant Principals and Administrators, to keep the district headed in a positive direction.
City Honors students have moved out of the bungalows and are now on the Crozier Middle School campus, where they have access to a newer facility and more room for physical activities.
The Continuation High School has reopened on the campus of Morningside High School.
And most telling is the continued success at Monroe Magnet Middle School. For the 2013-14 SY there were only 489 students and Principal Brent Tilley is proud to have nearly 700 students enrolled for the 2014-15 SY. 6th grade is back and spirits are high. The school once again gained in their API and Mr. Tilley expects the numbers to continue to grow.
LaShawn Witt, Program and Instructional Facilitator, rolled out the red carpet she said “to show students we care about them and celebrate their success.” With that type of welcome, the students and parents should be very happy with making the decision to return to Monroe.
