Inglewood Unified School District (IUSD) is accepting applications from residents of Inglewood and Ladera Heights who are interested in sitting on the five-member Advisory Board of Education. This is a great opportunity to be involved in the revitalization of IUSD and give valuable input for the education of Inglewood residents.
Two positions were left vacant this spring due to resignations. As a result IUSD State Trustee Dr. Don Brann may appoint new Board members to serve the District in anadvisory capacity only. The terms for both vacant seats run through the date of the next regular election in April 2015.
The District invites any resident to apply for the positions. Eligible candidates must be at least 18 years of age, citizens of the United States, residents of the District, registered to vote, and qualified to hold a civil office.
Application packets are available in the District Office at 401 S. Inglewood Ave., and must be completed by the close of business on Sept. 22, 2014. Dr. Brann hopes to make his appointments, if any, by the end of October 2014.
