2UrbanGirls is happy to see Inglewood native, Darius Leevy, running for West Basin Municipal Water District. He is currently the appointed District 1 Planning Commissioner for the City of Inglewood. As current West Basin representative Gloria D. Gray makes her bid for the 62nd Assembly District, it is refreshing to see another young African-American male stepping up to the plate. He will make a great leader to replace Ms. Gray.

The board seat covers Division II Cities of Inglewood, South Ladera Heights, a portion of Lennox and Athens, Howard and Ross-Sexton. FYI Howard and Ross-Sexton is the unincorporated area of Westmont (Century and Vermont areas). Calls made to West Basin yielded an admission they need to update their collateral to the correct territorial boundaries. It has yet to be done.
