At a recent City of Inglewood city council meeting, held October 1st, it became public knowledge that a church bought the abandoned movie theatre located at Manchester Blvd. and 5th Ave.
The church had a long history, while located in Los Angeles, and the embattled pastor is moving his flock, well what’s left of it, westward to Inglewood.
Should individuals, previously convicted of felony child abuse, be leading a church?
More importantly, how did the church purchase the site for a paltry $500k and a 14 day escrow? He claims the property is infested with asbestos and bird poop.
Parking plans call for the congregation to be bussed in from lots near the “church”.
This same pastor is also quite friendly with newly elected District 1 councilmember and newly installed I-COP appointee as well.
He also shared he was misquoted in this article.

They can’t afford to continue with construction because all of the money is gone. Same issues that caused him to lose the 49th and Main Ediface. Where is Betty Pleasant when you need her.
What do you mean? Is that why construction has stopped?
Pastor Joel Anthony Ward was not misquoted in that article. He said
the same to me when I sought him out in person, and I told him that that
was what he said—and that if he feels differently he was free to write a
letter to clarify the issue. He refused, saying, “If I write a letter
and you print it, someone is going to have an issue with it.”
He
also keeps insisting that the Chronicle is the Wave and that he
distrusts the media. I suppose that on that logic, he is Youth Pastor

Word to the pastor: you are moving into our community, and if
this is way you are going to treat its residents, it’s not going to be
an easy relationship.
Ingewood awarded a contract to “A-MAN, Inc.” that isn’t listed with the Secretary of State. What’s up with that???
