The Inglewood Unified School District has announced the reopening of the Continuation, now known asInglewood Continuation High School, on the campus of Morningside High School. Former Inglewood High School principal, Debbie Tate, is the principal of the continuation, which has more than 80 students currently enrolled.
Pupils qualify to attend ICHS if they are significantly behind in credits to graduate. Ms. Tate is also currently guiding the ICHS through the rigorous WASC accreditation process. When completed, it will allow the school to expand its future capacity of staff and students and officially graduate seniors as well.
The key to this is the continuation is not accredited, which leads to the more important question, will the credits count towards graduation? Based on the districts above description, they do not.
