One of the most important actions you can take to help your children and the educational programs at IUSD is to submit a meal application at the start of each school year. Your children may be eligible for free or reduced-price meals.
In order for the District to receive the maximum state funding through the new Local Control Funding Formula, IUSD must collect a meal application from every family or our children stand to lose vital funding for our much needed programs, including after-school programs as well as funding for technology.
Many families are surprised to learn that they qualify. Meals are served every school day at participating schools. Students may buy lunch (elementary, middle schools and high schools) for $2.59 and breakfast for $0.85 at elementary & middle schools, and $1.00 at high schools. Eligible students may receive meals at NO CHARGE. You or your children do not have to be a U.S. citizen to qualify for free or reduced-price meals.
Apply Online Today! or Apply in person. You should receive a meal application packet from your school during the week of September 23. All parents and guardians are asked to complete the family meal application (one per family) and return it to your children’s school. If you have not received an application, please contact your school’s office manager. Families who do not believe they qualify for free and reduced-price meals also are asked to complete the forms as all students benefit from increased funding. We must have 100% family participation. Please complete your meal application before Sept. 25.
