Asset Forfeiture Funds (AFF) are monies that are obtained through the selling of individuals personal property, that is confiscated by the state pursuant to the law.
AFF proceeds are to be used for police services only. Establishing awards for victims of violence, upgrading of police radio equipment and obtaining gang injunctions.
Its still amazing that the rewards to capture a killer rarely exceeds $25k but the City of Inglewood used $300k to research and request gang injunctions?
Oddly in 2006, Washington Interiors was contracted to install new flooring throughout Inglewood city hall offices and the Police Department. The company was owned by one of the planning commissioners.
Why was he paid out of Inglewood’s asset forfeiture fund? If that’s the case, why couldn’t Inglewood help out the school district the charter requires them to maintain?
