Where are the charges?

In December 2016 an employee of the city of Compton was led out of city hall in handcuffs.  According to LA County records, he was arrested at approx 8:47 a.m. and was out on bond at 10:56 a.m.  What remains mystery is why there aren’t any current charges pending against Salvador Galvan?

2 Urban Girls was the first to report on the arrest of Mr. Galvan and his “alleged” confession.  The LA Times followed up the story with a salacious headline FBI investigates allegations of embezzlement against Compton’s deputy treasurer, authorities say.  Yet, neither of the articles authors, Angel Jennings and Veronica Rocha, attributed that to anyone associated with the FBI.

“Sheriff’s Cmdr. Joe Gooden said the FBI is investigating the case. However, FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said the agency would not confirm or deny an investigation.”

Spokeswoman Laura Eimiller also confirmed to 2 Urban Girls that they could not confirm or deny and investigation and also clarified there was not an open case against Galvan, out of their office.  She went further to state she couldn’t corroborate anything in the media regarding this case.

LA County District Attorney spokesperson Greg Risling also confirmed to 2 Urban Girls that their office didn’t have an open case on Galvan either and referred us back to the Compton Sheriff’s department.

2 Urban Girls reached out to both Capt. Thatcher and Sgt. Wargo on whether a case was submitted to the District Attorney’s office.

Capt. Thatcher confirmed to 2 Urban Girls that their office has not presented a case for prosecution.

During the regular Compton city council meeting, held Tuesday, January 24th, it was brought to residents attention that Galvan is to have allegedly pilfered $3 million of taxpayers money.

City Manager Cecil Rhambo issued a memo to city treasurer Douglas Sanders, regarding new cash handing procedures.  One as basic as no backpacks in the area where employees are counting money.

Mr. Rhambo, how about the treasurer’s office doesn’t handle cash, AT ALL, like other neighboring cities and where are the surveillance cameras?

How ironic that former Mayor Omar Bradley is still facing misdemeanor charges of theft of public dollars, while Mr. Galvan has none pending against him and he supposedly confessed?  Mr. Risling had no comment on that fun fact.

Get the fuck outta here with the bullshit!

  1. Robert Ray says:

It is my understanding that the FBI is handling this entire matter as this will be a federal case.

  2. William Kemp says:

Justice is not fair and i wish they would stop saying they represent the people. Whose people not me. Any time a black man wants to improve the conditions of his people he is a threat to the power structure that wants to keep his people down. Compton has been down ever since I power structure has had ots foot on former Mayor Omar Bradley’s neck. The science is real restore the last man who had development on the rise unemployment down and dont forget he brought the Sheriff Department here he never got to see his leadership progress while in office. But adk the people who saw homicides like Chicago decline.
