Water Replenishment District raises fee 10 percent

thGet ready, some of us will see our water bills increase come July 1st.

After listening to three hours of comments Friday, the Water Replenishment District of Southern California board voted to increase the replenishment fee charged to water pumpers from the current $244 per acre foot to $268, an increase of about 10 percent.  The increase passed unanimously 4-0.

District staff had recommended raising the rate to $298 per an acre foot, which is about 326,000 gallons.

The new rates take effect July 1 and will affect water providers, both public and private, in 43 cities.
