Urban Girl Media is proud to present the Urban Girl Show an internet radio show bridging the gap between the voters and their elected officials, to discuss important issues, impacting urban communities.  We have an exciting lineup for the next few weeks so mark your calendars and be sure to tune in Sundays at 6:30pm PST on 

Sunday, January 24th

Richardson185x200Long Beach City Councilman Rex Richardson will be on the show discussing his efforts to enhance the quality of lives of Long Beach residents.  Adopting “My Brothers Keeper” he will highlight his efforts to assist boys and men of color reach their full potential, with the support of their city.




Sunday, February 7th

jill_stewart_photo1Jill Stewart is the Managing Editor at LA Weekly and  Stewart announced she is leaving the paper to run the campaign for the Neighborhood Integrity Initiative. She will oversee and manage the Coalition to Preserve L.A., which is pushing the slow-growth initiative for the November ballot.  We will discuss the dreaded word “gentrification” and what it truly means for homeowners and specifically renters.




Sunday, February 21st

CHEERS-DArtagnan-ScorzaDr. D’Artagnan Scorza is the Founder and Executive Director of the Social Justice Learning Institute in Inglewood, CA.  He was elected to the Inglewood Unified School District (IUSD) in April 2015 and also spearheaded efforts to pass school bond Measure GG and served as the spokesperson for the City of Champions Revitalization Initiative.  We will disucss the IUSD Advisory Boards efforts to return local control of the school district back to local control.
