Former UCLA football coach Rick Neuheisel revealed on his Sirius XM radio show ‘the fact his father was an influential guy played into my decision’ to recruit the teen, in the wake of Diddy’s alleged attack on assistant coach Sal Alosi.
He admitted that Justin, at 5ft9in, was too small to play competitively and that his famous father was the deciding factor.
‘When you’re weighing the assets of what a youngster can do for your program, there’s no question [being the rap mogul’s son] had something to do with it for me,’ Neuheisel explained.
‘Justin is a great kid. His problem was his size. He’s not big enough to be a dominant player. Could he be productive? Yes. The fact his father was an influential guy played into my decision to go ahead and offer him.’
