  • Not only is LA County home to the highest number of credit card fraud but also insurance claim fraud.  The County of Los Angeles has received a $6.9 million dollar grant to address “staged” accidents (KPCC)
  • Sherman Oaks residents were scared to ask LA County Sheriff Lee Baca questions regarding recent federal investigations into the Sheriff’s department at the Sherman Oaks Homeowners Association meeting (KPCC)
  • LAUSD announced plans to hire “teacher coaches” to teach teachers.  Yeah, I’m confused about that too (KPCC)
  • Former House Majority leader, Tom DeLay, saw his 2010money laundering conviction overturned.  Will DeLay emerge as the GOP presidential candidate (KPCC)
  • Regulators have ordered the Exide battery recycling facility in Vernon to cut production after an air monitor near the site found unusually high levels of lead in emissions coming from the plant (KPCC)
  • The new Tom Bradley terminal at LAX has opened (Daily Breeze)
  • The United States Postal Services is broke and wants to raise rates (Daily Breeze)
