There’s a new Sheriff in town.  Former sheriff’s deputy Cecil Rhambo was selected as the latest city manager and has already got to work.  Allegedly to the displeasure of the mayor and city council.

Local candidates receive early endorsements

Election watch 2017 is upon us.  Local elections will take place in Compton, Gardena, Inglewood and Los Angeles.  Early endorsements have been received by local candidates and many have failed to identify a sound platform for running.

City of Compton sued by Compton Unified

Compton Unified School District (CUSD) has sued the City of Compton in an attempt to force them to enforce the municipal code, that regulates businesses.  Particularly, marijuana dispensaries.  After sending notice to the city and with no apparent response, after giving them less than a week to respond, CUSD moved forward with litigation.


Mayor of Compton is headed to the United Kingdom

Compton Mayor Aja Brown is part of a delegation, of mayor’s, who are headed to the United Kingdom (UK). They will meet with British officials and business leaders to discuss infrastructure, public-private partnerships and urban leadership.

Compton mayor passess 100 day mark

Compton mayor Aja Brown came on the scene out of nowhere.  Yes, she had a strong background in government, but was a relative newcomer to politics.  Having previously served on the Planning Commission for the City of Pasadena, Brown stunned Compton residents by defeating former mayors Eric Perrodin and Omar Bradley.
