I had the opportunity to witness a great stage play Joe Turner’s Come and Gone which is now playing at the Mark Taper Forum in the music district of Downtown Los Angeles.

Directed by Phylicia Rashad and starring some of my favorite veteran actors Keith David and Glynn Turman and newcomer Vivian Nixon, this is a play the family will enjoy.

Set in 1911 in Pittsburg, Joe Turner’s Come and Gone looks at the relationship of strangers migrating to a better life and new prosperity as they pass through a local boarding house owned by Seth and Bertha Holly.

Joe Turner’s Come and Gone will run through June 9th, please click here to purchase tickets and read more about the show.
