Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) sues construction companies

imagesThe Daily Breeze is reporting a lawsuit filed by Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) over faulty construction of a runway.

The lawsuit, filed Oct. 10 in Torrance Superior Court, accuses Tutor-Saliba Corp., O&G Industries Inc., R&L Brosamer, HNTB Corp. and CH2M Hill Inc. of breach of contract regarding an overhaul of Runway 25L, LAX’s southernmost runway. The new runway opened in April 2007.

According to the complaint, the city entered into an agreement in 2006 with Tutor-Saliba Corp. and O&G Industries Inc., which formed a joint venture, to reconstruct the 13,000-foot-long runway.
