Local news reports gang shooting in Inglewood

Today all major local news media outlets reported about a “possible” gang shooting, that occured in the 11700 block of Crenshaw Blvd.  They also incorrectly reported the shooting occurring in the City of Inglewood.  The shooting took place on the eastside of Crenshaw Blvd.

Why can’t the NEWS get it straight what city they are in?  The City of Inglewood goes to court this month to convince a judge they need a gang injunction.  We don’t need the news crediting the WRONG city with the crime in question.

**update**

Based on City property lines, and the lack of street sign with Inglewood identification, turns out the shooting did in fact occur in the City of Inglewood.  2UrbanGirls apologizes for the error.

News sources are reporting a suspect is in custody.

  1. Morningside Park Chronicle says:

Between W. 116th Street to the north and 119th Street to the south, the east side of S. Crenshaw Blvd., and the west side of Crenshaw Blvd. is Inglewood.

According to IPD Lieutenant Jacqueline Layne (IPD Chief Fronterotta’s adjutant who was recently transferred to Inglewood District 4), the shooting happened just before 1 p.m.
on the 11700 block of Crenshaw Boulevard—which places it right in the middle of that block.

I have the photos of the two buildings and the breezeway filled with IPD officers where the event occurred.
