LAX Airport wants you to know

The Federal Aviation Administration will be conducting flight check operations at LAX on October 21st and 22nd to ensure that the Instrument Landing System (ILS) and other navigational equipment are working properly. These flight checks will require LAX to temporarily deviate from Over-Ocean Operations during these two nights.

LAX normally operates in Over-Ocean Operations, from midnight to 6:30 AM, wherein aircraft arrive and depart over the ocean to minimize noise disturbance to the communities directly east of the airport. However, the aforementioned circumstance requires the airport to temporarily deviate from this air traffic flow configuration. As a result, persons living near the airport may notice a change in aircraft flight activity and associated noise during this test.

Thank you for your understanding and patience during this special circumstance.
