KDAY’s Krush Groove was the shit
Kam, Glasses Malone, MC Eiht & Chingy, warmed up the crowd. DJ Quik was a surprise guest and debuted a new single, “Rosecrans” featuring Chingy. Although a picture surfaced on the Internet of Quik & Eiht in one another’s presence, there was no onstage reunion.
Too Short took the stage performing “Blow the Whistle” and had the crowd screaming his favorite word!
Warren G didn’t disappoint singing many of his hits “Regulators” “Don’t see” and as always, made sure Nate Dogg was recognized by attendees.
Mack 10 showed up and showed out. Dressed in a fresh white tee, tan khaki pants, red chucks, red rag with an “A”s hat, he ripped the stage performing classics like “Foe Life” “Backyard Boogie” and crowd favorite “Cavi Hit” with Daz and Kurupt joining in. Mack 10 remarked the song is twenty years old. Yikes!
Since Inglewood was the locale, Mack dime was alloted additional time, performing verses from Westside Connection. He reminded us “he got hits” after running out of time. Twice.
Finally, Snoop hit the stage in a cozy bathrobe, wife beater and jeans. Another performer with a catalog out of this world, he was joined on stage by the Lady of Rage and the rest of the LBC crew.
Dranks was flowin’, dank was blowin’ and it was the best concert I have been to in a long time.
The crowd was diverse and had great energy. Staff was pleasant and law enforcement wasn’t overbearing. All of this was happening in MY city and it feels good.
