Under the direction of the Director of Information Services, performs administration and development of business applications and database systems. Provides ongoing application and database support; proactively monitors all relevant systems to identify areas of improvement;  collaborates with end-user application owners to ensure business needs are being met, and makes recommendations for changes and improvement; establishes and ensures disaster recovery procedures to maintain compliance with business continuity requirements.
Key         Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Manages database availability in accordance with established service level objectives, including: scheduling and maintaining regular backups, performing regular maintenance (indexing, integrity/consistency checking, and data cleanup), monitoring performance and tuning, maintaining client access mechanisms (local client and terminal servers), and scheduling/managing jobs processing.
2. Administration of all production  applications, including user accounts, printing, security access, operational parameters, and maintenance.
3. Develops custom applications, enhancements, utilities, and reports, including: definition of project scope and requirements, development, testing (internal and with end-users), deploying to production, and enhancing.
4. Maintains database security in accordance with established security guidelines.
5. Coordinates and conducts internal (alpha) and end-user (beta) testing of patches and upgrades to databases and associated applications, ensuring compatibility with business requirements and existing systems.
6. Ensures that all changes to production systems are made in accordance with established change control policies.
7. Creates and maintains documentation of DB-related standard operating procedures, in-house developed applications and utilities, testing and change control, security policies, and disaster recovery procedures.
8. Provides and maintains ongoing strategic plans for all application servers to meet business       requirements and ensure adequate capacity and growth potential of storage, data transmission systems, and servers.
9. Conducts end-user training for developed applications and systems.
10. Administration and primary support of agency intranet (SharePoint) and internet (external)   website.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:         
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with major course work in computer science or a related field. At least four (4) years of experience in similar role. Previous experience with a Housing Authority or government agency a plus.

Bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching to file materials.
