After reading about another round of RSI funding for City of Inglewood residents, I immediately contacted LAWA regarding the status of the Inglewood Unified School District (IUSD) application submitted by former state administrator, LaTanya Kirk-Carter, back in 2013.  IUSD students have suffered for over a decade and we are FINALLY having money awarded.  Are we excited yet?  Here is what LAWA had to say.

The $44 Million the Board of Airport Commissioners awarded the City of Inglewood on January 15, 2015 is new money  and is earmarked for approximately 1,030 homes.

Carlton Square is not part of this specific phase.

With regards to Inglewood Unified, we received a positive response from the FAA in late October and provided this information to the District.  We will be issuing a joint press release very soon.   The approved funding level is $44 million (odd coincidence J)  for 6 schools/centers.

Thanks,

Georgianna

Of course I followed up with if this is indeed new funding, why haven’t Carlton Square homeowners been included?  Stay tuned…
