9c4d991de89e3e57a558c3432ebd830f_400x400Due to the resignation of Compton Community College District Board President, Leslie Irving, a spot has opened up for Trustee Area #2, one of the key offices to represent the City of Compton.  This persons will be appointed and serve until the next election scheduled for 2017.
Four candidates have placed their names into contention:

  • Jonathan Taylor, NAEJA
  • Barbara Calhoun, Former Compton City Councilwoman and CUSD Board Member
  • Elizabeth Atkinson
  • Nicole J. Jones
Two candidates, Jonathan Taylor and Barbara Calhoun, I can say have been active at the college attending meetings, expressing their concerns.
I am unfamiliar with the other two candidates.
The meeting will be held TODAY, Wednesday October 20th  in the Trustee Board Room at 4:00 PM to decide which two candidates move forward.
A final meeting on October 26th also at 4:00 PM will be to conduct interviews with the final two candidates.
Please come out to express your support and concerns for responsible leadership at the college.
All of their applications can be found by clicking here to go to the college website:
We must begin to put in place leadership that is responsible and dedicated to the task, not looking for political advancement or to serve insiders.
Please try to attend if you can.  We apologize for the late notice.
