Has the City of Los Angeles already awarded the low-income carshare contract

After Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti announced plans for a low-income carsharing program, funded by Cap & Trade monies, industry titans scrambled to put together proposals that meet the RFP requirements.  A huge component is having previous carsharing experience.  For full disclosure, this author is not attached to any of the proposals submitted.

Inglewood Mayor suggests South Bay Transit Corridor Rail Project

Despite the devastating news that Metro ridership continues to decline, a board member suggested that expanding the rail is the best way to increase ridership.  Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts’ suggestion, at today’s regular scheduled LACMTA board meeting, was met with support from Supervisor Don Knabe and another four board members.

Making the case to release Cap & Trade Funds

As urban communities continue to be plagued with a flawed transportation system, that allows for the movement of goods, via smog causing trucks, the cap & trade program sought and receives, funds from gross polluters, which is to be reinvested back into the communities they are polluting.

A grant program created to assist small businesses impacted by Southland light-rail construction topped the $1 million mark Thursday as officials handed a $15,000 check to the owner of a Crenshaw Boulevard salon.

An interesting article recently appeared on California Political Review and was authored by Stephen Frank.  The article discusses how Los Angeles County Metropolitan Authority aka LA County Metro, plans to utilize property they own that sits along rail lines.  Is Metro attempting to create slums?  Mr. Frank believes so.  Read for yourself.
