California Legislators admonished for sexual misconduct

The Sacramento Bee is reporting four state legislators have received verbal reprimands for misconduct of a sexual nature.  Included in the list were Republican Governor candidate Assemblymember Travis Allen, Sen. Bob Hertzberg and Sen. Tony Mendoza, who was reprimanded while in the Assembly, and Assemblywoman Autumn Burke.

Maywood City Councilmember settles with District Attorney’s office to avoid trial

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has settled a civil lawsuit against former Maywood Councilman Sergio Calderon that alleged he held two public offices at the same time which violated state law.  The same charges the District Attorney’s office is seeking against the Mayor of Carson Albert Robles.

South L.A. Man Arrested on Federal Charges Alleging He Made Online Threats to Kill Sheriff’s Dept. Personnel at the Inglewood Courthouse

LOS ANGELES – Federal authorities this morning arrested a South Los Angeles man who allegedly made a series of online threats to kill law enforcement personnel and others at the Los Angeles Superior Court’s Inglewood Courthouse, a nearby school and a private business.


Adelanto City Councilmember Jermaine Wright indicted by federal grand jury

The U.S. District Attorney’s office confirmed that Adelanto Councilmember Jermaine Wright was indicted by a federal grand jury.  Wright first appeared in court on Monday, November 13th where bail was set at $100k.  Wright is scheduled to appear on December 6th to enter a plea on the charges.
