The Black Los Angeles Young Dems (BLAYD) held a special election candidate forum at St. Bede’s Episcopal Church in Mar Vista and was moderated by Dallas Fowler.  The event marked the first debate between the candidates: Christopher R. Armenta, John Jake and Sebastian Ridley-Thomas.  The event was well attended and standing room only. 


L.A. Archdiocese responds to flier circulating about local priest

The Los Angeles Archdiocese was contacted regarding allegations being circulated through numerous Catholic churches in Los Angeles.  The fliers have appeared on the windshields of cars at many of the local predominantly African-American churches in South L.A.  The L.A. Archdiocese has issued the following statement.

Election 2014 season is underway with an all-female candidate pool.  Betsy Butler, Autum Burke and Gloria Gray, are the three most viable candidates hoping to become the successor to current 62nd AD Mr. Steve Bradford.

Coalition for Clean and Affordable Water supported Compton candidate

The Los Cerritos News recently revealed Rob Katherman’s affiliation with the “Coalition for Clean Affordable Water” with the sole purpose of influencing elections. Anjel Gonzales, former aide to newly elected Compton city councilmember Isaac Galvan, who campaigned on lowering the cities water bills, was also attached to this coalition.  


Question for Inglewood: Who is A-MAN, Inc.

On October 22nd, the City of Inglewood held a regular city council meeting.  On the docket, approval of a contract with A-MAN, Inc. to provide shuttle service for their after school program located at 101 S. LaBrea Ave.
