Judge rules the City of Detroit is eligible for bankruptcy protection

Inside Detroit- In a courtroom in the City of Detroit, WXYZ is reporting Judge Steven Rhodes declared Detroit eligible for Chapter 9 bankruptcy protection.  With unfunded liabilities attached to Detroit retirees pensions, the ruling today paved the way to address whether to cut the pension amounts retirees receive.

The Inglewood Unified School District appears to be headed towards recovery.  With a newly created public relations department, the district has stepped up efforts to bring the community a closer look at the successes that go unnoticed.

Lennox School District has new Superintendent

In a 3-2 vote, Lennox School District board members voted to remove Barbara Flores and promote Kent Taylor to the position of superintendent of the district.  Flores will receive the remainder of her salary through July 2014.  Taylor will receive a salary of $178,000 up from $165,000 he received as the second in command.

Inglewood Jets wins OCJAAF Pee-Wee Super Bowl
