90-year-old cyclicst killed in Koreatown

metro bike laneAnother day, another bike death.  Video shows 90 year old Joo Yoon traveling on his bike in Koreatown, through the intersection, on a red light.  As the vehicle was approaching the intersection, the vehicle had the right of way and the cyclist was clearly in the wrong.  When will Metro or the City of LA Bike Program reinforce the need for cyclists to obey traffic laws and WALK your bike through the intersection and especially do not ride on a ride light?

Danny Gamboa, The Eastside Riders BC and Streetsblog LA will soon need to hold fundraisers to erect yet another #GhostBike to bring awareness to yet another preventable death.  Just as we see memorials and flowers placed at the scene of loved ones demise throughout the city, #GhostBikes are a reminder to share the road with cyclists.  SAFELY!
