Hawthorne city council to appoint new council member

There is one vacancy on the Hawthorne city council.  November elections saw the only African-Americans, on council with voting authority, removed by the voters.  Residents were not happy with the city’s finances and blamed them.  Especially the former mayor.

Are Jim Dear’s days numbered

Compton councilwoman disrespects resident at last council meeting

There appears to be no love lost between the Compton councilwoman for the third district, Yvonne Arceneaux and an outspoken community member.  The disrespect displayed during the councilwoman’s last public meeting was quite distasteful.
