Mayor of Compton is headed to the United Kingdom

aja brownCompton Mayor Aja Brown is part of a delegation, of mayor’s, who are headed to the United Kingdom (UK). They will meet with British officials and business leaders to discuss infrastructure, public-private partnerships and urban leadership.

Other mayors on the trip are Stephanie Miner of Syracuse,  Mick Cornett of Oklahoma City; Javier Gonzales of Santa Fe and Setti Warren of Newton, Massachusetts.

The Compton-British connection dates back to 2008 when Tesco opened a Fresh and Easy in the Hub City.

Prince Andrew, Duke of York, attended the event in his role as the United Kingdom’s Special Representative for Trade and Investment.

The delegation leaves Saturday and 2UrbanGirls wishes them all safe travels!  Tally-ho!
