KDAY Community Shows speaks with L.A. County District Attorney Jackie Lacey

DA-Lacey.05.2013aLos Angeles County District Attorney, Jackie Lacey, spoke with the KDAY Community Show in July, on her being elected the first African-American female district attorney, since the departments creation in 1850.  She was elected in November 2012 with 55% of the vote and was sworn in December 3, 2012, as the 42nd District Attorney of Los Angles County.  She oversees roughly 1,000 lawyers, 300 investigators and 800 support staff, to carry out the duties of the office. She speaks about being a proud alumni of Dorsey High School, having also attended UC Irvine and the USC School of Law.  Her pet projects include crimes committed against the elderly and her passion for helping the mentally ill being incarcerated vs diversion, calling it “inefficient, ineffective and in many cases inhumane“.

Ms. Lacey is just like you and I.  She wakes up everyday looking at her phone for the latest news and going ons around the nation.  Feel free to follow your district attorney on twitter under her handle @JackieLacey.
